Saturday, June 18 Covering Shady Ground Are you looking for just the right plants to cover a barren patch of soil, control erosion on a hillside or create a new garden under a tree? Learn how to use ground cover plants to pull your garden design together and solve a multitude of problems. Green Spring Gardens Horticulturalist Mary Frogale shares her favorite plants for shade from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $15 per person. Campfire Stories and Songs Gather 'round the campfire at Hidden Oaks Nature Center from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. for storytelling, traditional campfire songs and making s'mores. Father's Day Golf Tournament Teams of two players compete in an 18-hole scramble format in three divisions at Burke Lake Golf Course from 8 a.m. to noon. Divisions include Father/Jr. 7-12; Father/Jr. 13-17; and Father/Adult partner. Compete in closest-to-the-pin contests. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in all divisions.
