Balls were a favorite thing for girls to do in the 18th century! Now at Gadsby's Tavern Museum, 134 North Royal Street, explore the tavern where famous balls like George Washington's Birthnight Ball were held and practice the tasks involved in preparing for a ball. The hour-long programs begin at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., and include an 18th-century dance lesson and a craft to take home! Admission is $6 per person and reservations are required, so call 703.746.4739 or visit www.gadsbystavern.org for more information. |
